Commentary is not all about letting the audience know how clever you are, far from it. Commentary should only ever compliment what is happening, never seek to outshine it. The commentator has to find a path that can inform the casual visitor and not alienate the armchair expert.
Melvyn Hiscock has commentated at shows ranging from eight
minute aerobatic displays at fetes and garden parties to some of the largest
He is also very comfortable working as part of a team and has worked alongsinde Brendan O'Brien at Dunsfold for the last seven years and has been part of the team that presents the Jersey International Air Display both live and as a four hour BBC radio show.
