The guitar is broken down into its parts and chapters cover design, woods, tools the top, the back and the sides, how to make necks and fingerboards and the variations that are used to put them all together.
Five guitars are made as examples and these cover reclaimed materials, cutaways, 12-string guitars and, perhaps uniquely in a book such as this, resonator guitars. There is also a Martin factory visit to show how guitars are made in volume and how this is often quite similar to how they are made in a small workshop.
This book will give a thorough grounding in the subject and
is written in the same no nonsense style that has made Make Your Own Electric
